Questions for 1st Round (6 questions per team in one minute). Each team has about 2 difficult questions, marked by asterisk.

SET 1

Elizabeth (Lk: 1:60).

2) What was the symbol of God's covenant with Noah?
The rainbow.

4) In the Beattitudes, what kind of people who can see God?

Not known. Never mentioned in Bible.

6) How did God scatter the builders of the Tower of Babel
Their language was confused.


SET 5

1) When in prison, whose dreams did Joseph interpret ?
The pharaoh's cupbearer & baker.

2) Why was Esau so named ?
Because he was hairy.

Keturah.

**4) The daughters of Lot had a son each. What are their names ?
Moab & Ben-Ammi.

5) After Herod's death, where did Joseph & Mary go to raise Jesus?

6) Who was Jesus referring to with his six woes?

Abraham (Lk 16).

3) According to 3 of the Gospels, who was the person that Jesus first appeared to after his resurrection?
Mary Magdalene.

Suitable Questions for 2nd Round. Twelve questions. Each team writes its answers on paper. Some questions have two parts, second question is a bonus question worth 1 point.

1) Jesus instructs us not to store up treasures for ourselves on earth because what will destroy them?
Moth and rust (Mt 6:19).

2i) In Matthew, Jesus instructs us not to throw pearls to pigs. Why?
Because they will trample on them, and then turn around and tear us to pieces (Mt 7:1-6).

ii) What is the moral of this parable?
Do not judge others.

3) When Jesus said that not everyone will enter the kingdom of God, who was he specifically referring to?
False prophets/teachers (Mt 7:21-23).

4i) In the parable of the sower, what do the seeds which have been sown on rocky places represent?
People who are initially joyous upon hearing the Word. But since they have no root, they last only for a short time and fall away upon trouble or persecution (Mk 4:16-17).

ii) In the same parable, what happens to those seeds thrown onto the path?
Eaten by birds (Mk 4:4).

5i) In the feeding of four thousand mentioned in Mark, how many loaves of bread and fish were there?

Road to Ephrath, also know now as Bethlehem (Gen 35:19).

7) What was Jesus preaching before He declared Man to "seek first his kingdom and his righteousness"?
Not to worry about life (Mt 6:25-34).

8) Name 2 tax collectors mentioned in the Gospels.
Answer is a) Matthew / Levi, son of Alphaeus, b) Zacchaeus.

9) Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. Which town is he from?
Bethany.

10) In Mark 7, Jesus healed a deaf mute. In John 9, he healed a man who was born blind. In these two instances, what was the same method he used to cure them?
He used his spit - once to touch the mute's tongue, the second to form mud and placed it on the blind's eyes.

11) Where was the home town of Abraham before God called him to Canaan ?
Haran.
